From a close call to a clear purpose — redefining protective sportswear for the next generation.
Hockey has always been a defining part of Christopher Moehlenpah's life. Growing up, he played Tier I hockey before continuing his career at the University of Alabama.
In November 2022, everything changed. During a league showcase, an opposing player fell in front of him, and their skate blade came up, lacerating Chris's neck and missing his jugular vein by just millimeters. Chris came dangerously close to losing his life.
Like many players, Chris wasn't wearing neck protection because the existing options were uncomfortable, uncool, and poorly designed. That moment was when Chris decided to take matters into his own hands and build a business inspired by his lived experience.
That's where MoCurá began.
Born from firsthand experience and driven by an athlete-first mindset, MoCurá is redefining protective sportswear from the ground up, combining advanced materials with intentional design to deliver performance, protection, and comfort.
